For some Roger Federer, the greatest ever tennis play, can walk on water, but can he play on water as well as he can on grass, while can the sport’s other superstar, Rafael Nadal, play on water as well as he can on clay?
What on earth am I rambling on about? Well, the pair took part in an exhibition match on a tennis court that is floating in a lagoon on the coast of Doha in Qatar where it seems they do have more money than sense.
Baseline rallies on this court would be rather hazardous, so the idea will probably not catch on but the picture is outstanding so it is good promotion we assume.
Nadal said: “For the past three years we have done a few different things, and this one was a very nice experience.”
Federer added: ”It was good fun. It was so different. You’re always excited and nervous to see how it will turn out. It is always nice promoting an event and an entire tour with Rafa.”
