It is amazing what you can find your sofa, as well as under the cushions of course, but the amazement usually entails money, long-lost keys and unfortunately decomposed food.
So, imagine the reaction of a woman in Brazil who found an alligator behind her sofa and to make matters worse her three-year-old son was tapping it on the head.
The alligator is believed to have been washed into her home in the town of Parauapebas after heavy rain.
She called the fire brigade, who trapped the 1.5m-long (5ft) alligator and said that they were lucky the beast wasn’t hungry or they may not have lived to tell the excellent tale.
The reptile had been released in a less populated area of the town.
