Dead birds leave Arkansas residents fearing biblical plague

Thousands of dead blackbirds fell from the sky over Arkansas in America shortly before New Years Eve to leave scientists scratching their heads and residents fearing a biblical plague.

Approximately half an hour before midnight on New Year’s Eve the birds began falling from the sky in the town of Beebe, while none were found elsewhere.

The birds are being tested for poisons, while it has been suggested that New Years fireworks is the reason as this could have caused the birds to die from stress as they flew over the town.

To add to the intrigue and wild speculation in a separate incident around 100,000 dead drum fish were found washed up along a 20-mile stretch of the Arkansas River near to Ozark, although this has been put down to disease at this stage.
